About
Amit has a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland at College Park. He has worked in marketing with Hoechst India Limited; at the University of Maryland Center for Quality and Productivity where he was the administrator for the Maryland State Quality Award (modeled after the Baldrige award) and supported a number of consulting projects; as a Manager in Wipro Corporate and AVP in Wipro BPO; as faculty member in IIM Indore, IIM Bangalore and MDI Gurgaon.
His research interests are in the areas of organization structure and processes, organization theory, history of management thought, history of business in India, leadership and change management, and cross culture management. His academic publications have appeared in European Management Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of International Management, International Journal of Service Technology and Management, Economic and Political Weekly and South Asian Journal of Management among others. He also has a number of conference presentations and book chapters to his credit.
He has consulted with a number of organizations in the areas of structuring of organizations and assessment of organizations. His consulting assignments have been with Wipro Corporation, Bangalore; Competition Commission of India, New Delhi; Olam International, Singapore; Grasim Industries, Haveri; HMTI, Bangalore; CVRDE (DRDO), Chennai; AIISH (MHFW), Mysore, PIIC (MHFW), Coonoor, Aero India 2003 (MOD, GOI).
